Often found in caves or shipwrecks, these solitary fish are found on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean in temperate and sub-tropical waters.

Commercial Sources

Portugal, Spain, Greece and the U.S. are the largest sources of wreckfish. Most wreckfish on the U.S. market are caught domestically.

Capture Methods

Wreckfish come from marine fisheries, not farms. They are caught with hydraulic rod and reel.
